LAKE CITY, FL. — The Dirt Track Digest TV Showdown in the Sunshine State is quickly becoming a must-see event as the DIRTcar Modifieds and DIRTcar Sportsman head to All-Tech Raceway from Feb. 4-7.
Entries continue to roll in as drivers prepare to travel to the Sunshine State, all hoping to pocket a coveted $5,000 winner’s share in the Modifieds and a $2,000 payday for the Sportsman each night.
The first Modified entry came from Lebanon Valley Speedway 358 Modified champion Chris Curtis. The East Canaan, Connecticut, driver was a six-time winner at the Valley of Speed in 2025, earning five feature victories in the 358 division while also taking home a checkered flag in the Big Block Modifieds.
Joining him early was young gun Tanner VanDoren. The teenager is a former Sportsman champion at Orange County Fair Speedway and has held his own at the Legendary House of Power, scoring a victory during the track’s 106th anniversary night in August.
Western Pennsylvania drivers were quick to join the fold, with Garrett Krummert becoming the first from the region to throw his hat into the ring. Krummert was a weekly threat at his local tracks, scoring multiple wins at both Lernerville and Sharon Speedways while also claiming the track championship at the Sarver, Pennsylvania, oval.
Another stalwart from the region making the trek south is Rex King Jr. Known affectionately as “Cooter,” King picked up victories at Lernerville, Sharon and Michael’s Mercer Raceway Park in 2025 while also capturing the Bicknell Racing Products Modified Tour championship. His son, Karsten, will also join him at All-Tech to compete in the Sportsman division.
The first Super DIRTcar Series driver to announce his intentions to head south was Quebec native Felix Roy. “Hollywood” competed in more than 100 races in 2025 and is looking to get an early start on the 2026 season after claiming the 358 Modified championships at both Airborne Park Speedway and Albany-Saratoga Speedway.
The first DIRTcar Sportsman entry belongs to Michael Ballestero. Ballestero brings a wealth of experience to All-Tech Raceway, having competed at the speedway in years past and previously reaching Victory Lane. The Saratoga Springs, New York, native represents New York’s Capital District and will be looking to return to the top spot at the tricky Florida oval.
Thunder Mountain Speedway will also be well represented, as Eric and Stephen Winsor, along with Avery Decker, have joined the list of early DIRTcar Sportsman entrants. The trio will look to parlay their success at the Southern Tier of New York speedway into strong performances at All-Tech Raceway.
The Showdown in the Sunshine Swing is supported by: PJC Spray Foam, Smith Site Development, Scott Jeffery’s Performance, Accurate Collision, and Hytorc of New York.
