Terri’s Race Report for 05/29/2021

Today we would honor such a wonderful and very talented man, Mr. Harvey Jones. The fans, cars and crews sure came in groves and showed us how the Legend meant so much to them.

The first feature of the night, which showed to be an action packed race. Green flag would fly. We would see Patrick Williams (56) out front and would lead the field back to the flag stand. Cars are all over the place making passes 2 and 3 wide at times. Jason Garver (01) would start making his way to the front after starting near the rear of the field. As we see Shane Taylor (82) start gaining on our leader. As our leader was making his way through lap traffic, one of the lapped cars squeezed Durden (56) in the turn 4 wall. After all was said and done Williams (56) would be able to come back to race. After the restart, Bubba Roling (18) would take a wild ride on the turn 2 wall. Man at the action!!! Patrick Williams (56) would lead the field to the checkered flag followed by Zach McDaniel (m25), Shane Taylor (82), Justin Durbin (2b) and Jason Garver (01).

Second Feature of the night would be the Skeeter Cars/ Southern Modifieds. Green Flag is in the air, we would see a big wreck going into turn 1, taking out a lot of cars. Green would wave again. This time we see Lonnie Roberts (181) bring the field back to the flagstand. These cars Mr Harvey Jones sure knew how to win in. But back then a lot more work was put into these cars. We have a lot of technology now, back then you didn’t. Lonnie Roberts would lead the field to the checkered flag followed by Keith Brendell (69), Keith Kendrick (90), Richard Poindexter (14) finishing the feature.

The last feature of the night would be our $10,000 to win Harvey Jones Memorial!! With almost 40 cars showing up to make a 24 car field. We would have one of the most beautiful sites in dirt track racing, a 4 wide Salute with American Flags waving. Then we would have the green flag waved. We are 3 and 4 wide before we even make a lap. We would see Mark Whitener (5) lead the field back to the flag stand. Battle heating up for second place between Joseph Joiner (10) and Jason Welshan (01) wth Joiner (10) taking the spot. By lap five the Hunt the Front Driver Joiner (10) would be reeling in the Magicman Mark Whitener (5) and takes the spot on lap ten! After a caution we would see Micheal Lloyd (18) make his way into second place. We now have lap traffic coming into play and everyone wanting to stay on the bottom, even the leaders. We have now reached the halfway point. It is Joiner (10), Whitener (5), Lloyd (18), Will Herrington (14) and Welshan (01) rounding out your top five cars. After we stack the field up again we would have a restart and have a huge wreck that stared in the middle of the front stretch and end at turn one, taking out a lot of good cars. Green out once again, this time Whitener (5) isn’t letting Joiner (10) far from him. As they are now battling for the lead again. Putting on a show for the fans in the stands. Bad luck would strike for Whitener (5) as he jumps the wall, with his wheel and tire coming off in front of the field. Now, will this play a big part in the event as Whitener (5) will restart the race on fresh tires?? Green flag out for the last time as Joiner (10) would lead them around and never look back!!. Joseph Joiner (10) would lead the field to the checkered followed by Mark Whitener (5), Jason Welshan (01), Jimmy Thomas (22) and Clay Harris (6) rounding out your top five.

Features are as they cross the finish line, not after the tech shed or tire samples.

Thanks to all of our Sponsors of All Tech Raceway we simply could not do it with out each and everyone one of you.

Larson Dominates Lucas Dirt Season Opener at All-Tech

LAKE CITY, FL (January 23, 2021) – Kyle Larson scored the victory in the first Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event of the season on Saturday night at All-Tech Raceway. The 28-year-old California native earned his second career win in a dirt late model. On his way to Lucas Oil Victory Lane he took the lead from Tyler Erb on lap 14 and proceeded to lap up to the eighth-place finisher, eventually winning the race by a stout 15 seconds.

There was a tight battle for the lead for the first 14 laps as Larson, Erb, and Devin Moran battled for the lead. Larson started sixth and passed Erb for the point, completely dominating the rest of the 50-lap race which went caution free. Moran moved into second on lap 16 and stayed there the rest of the race. New track record holder Mike Marlar came home in third followed by reigning Series Champion Jimmy Owens, and Brandon Sheppard.

Erb started from the pole and looked strong early on, but he couldn’t hold off the hard-charging Larson who skated past Erb and pulled away from the entire field. Marlar got around Erb late in the race as Erb lost three spots in the closing laps to finish sixth. Owens came from the 13th starting spot to salvage a good finish taking fourth, after a good battle with Sheppard.

In Lucas Oil Victory Lane Larson was in amazement of his performance. “I have been asking a lot of people how to run the bottom. I have been really bad every time in a late model about moving around. I can run the top good but moving around I haven’t been very good. So, I just tried to be a lot smoother.  Gosh, my race car was so fast. I could go anywhere I wanted.”

Larson, who in 2020 captured 46 feature events and was the open wheel driver of the year, praised his car owner Kevin Rumley for the win. “Kevin Rumley and everyone who works on this thing, it’s such a pleasure to drive. I cannot believe I won Port Royal last year, and I can’t believe I won here. This is awesome. Thanks to all of the fans in the stands and the ones watching at home.”

Moran was pleased with his second place run in the Tye Twarog-owned entry. It was Moran’s first race since last October after having off-season wrist surgery. “I lost all of my tearoffs early in the race. I couldn’t see the 6 car anyways, he was too far out in front. We will take this top two finish heading to East Bay next week.”

Marlar, who is attempting his first full season with the series was pleased with his opening night performance. “As the track moved around a little bit, I got better. I want to thank Ronnie Delk for giving me this opportunity, my wife Stacy, and my crew for giving me such a good car tonight. Thank you to all of my sponsors and to the fans for everything that you all do for us.”

The winner’s Rumley Engineering owned Longhorn Chassis is powered by a Cornett Racing Engine and sponsored by Bilstein Shocks, JVI Group, Mega Plumbing of the Carolinas, Hot Rod Septic Treatment, and D&E Marine.

Completing the top ten were Tyler Erb, Gregg Satterlee, Jonathan Davenport, Kyle Bronson, and Brandon Overton.

Terri’s Race Report for 08/15/2020

We at All Tech Raceway wanna thank each and everyone one of you drivers, fans and families for your outstanding amount of support. You all sure know how to make us feel the love. And you know this week on the Discovery Channel is “Shark Week”! Keep that in mind!!!

Everyone started coming in around 2 and didn’t stop until after the features had started. I made it up to the tower after the beginning of our first feature.

I missed the beginning of the Reed’s Metal’s C-Class 602 Late Models. As I walked in it would have 7 laps to go. Clay Harris (6) was out front. But Trey Mills (14jr) is trying both high and low lines just after the restart to get Mike Kopka (12k). As he was able to make it stick to make the pass and take third place. As Clay “The Shark” Harris (6) would bring them to the Checkered Flag followed by Mark Whitener, Jr (5), Trey Mills (14jr), Mike Kopka (12k) and Jackson Hise (388) rounding out your top five.

Next up would be the Pure Stock Division. With a very stance field of cars on tap for this race, the Green Flag would wave. Donnie Oden (22) would spin in front of this stacked up field, and every driver missed him. WOW! Great job by all drivers for your amazing driving and missing him. After a couple restarts, we get a good one. We are three wide after this restart. With Kent Corbin (7), John Roling (18) and Joey Haslauer (57) battling it out. On the move now is Devin Walker (55) he is up to fifth place now. But as he enters turn 3 go goes in a little too hard making him push off of turn four to give up a spot. After some contact on the turn four wall, we will have a two lap shootout to the finish. Green would wave, Haslauer (57) would make a clean start and he never looks back. Joey Haslauer (57) would bring them to the Checkered Flag with Sparks Flying John Roling (18) follows, Curt Spencer (12), Bubba Roling (18B) and Shawn Creech (07) to round out your top five.

Next up would be our Southern Clash Late Models battling it out for a $3000 pay day! Very, very stout field of the best driver’s in the South on hand. Two Veteran driver’s on the front row, Mark Whitener (5) and Ivendent Lloyd, Jr (07). They would bring the field to green. Battles all over the track before we even complete a lap, but Mark Whitener (5) leads the field back to the Flagstand to complete lap number one. Now we see the “Shark” Clay Harris (6) lurking, looking to make a move on the Veteran’s, as he is looking to take second place from Lloyd (07). Great battle for fifth place now between Chad Tuten (51), John Baker (14B). As Tuten (51) would take it. We have caution bunching the field back up. Harris (6) would take an advantage of that restart as he takes the second place spot from Lloyd (07). As hard lunch would strike Lloyd (07) as he brings her into the pit area. Now with a very commanding lead over the field Whitener (5) would have hard luck strike him as well, as he breaks a driveshaft and J-bar ending up in the wall and ending his night. Now, the Lurking Shark, Harris (6), would be in the Hot Seat to take the green. Will it be a true “Shark Week” at All Tech Raceway as well?? After the restart they are battling hard everywhere for those final spots. Trey Person (21) is looking to take Kyle Vansickle (3K) for the fourth place position. And he makes a successful pass. As we have Clay “The Shark” Harris (6) leading them to the Checkered Flag, followed by Jason Fitzgerald (7), Chad Tuten (51), Trey Person (21) and Kyle Vansickle (3K) rounding out your top five.

The Woodmen Life Street Stocks would be up next. Nice field of cars for this one as well! We would see the Green Flag wave as Heath Walker (55) would lead them around for the completion of lap one. But Jason Garver (12) would take that lead as he drives it in deep in turn one and two. Battle is heating up for second place between Sammy (Sambo) Hatcher (B1) and Shawn Washam (12). Moving through the field is Cameron Metts (37) as he is up to fifth place now. Now Walker (55) takes that lead back. After a quick restart Walker (55) out front, but we now see Hatcher (B1) looking at Garver (12) for that second place spot. He makes it stick and takes that second place spot. They will stack back up with five laps to go. Will we see another week, like the last race between Walker (55) and Hatcher (B1)?? This week Walker (55) is a little more commanding and not letting Hatcher (B1) get him this time. As we see the Mayo Missle Health Walker (55) take the Checkered, followed by Sammy “Sambo” Hatcher (B1), Jason Garver (12), Shawn Washam (12W) and Ethan Butts (27) rounding out your top five.

Next and final feature would be the SCDRA division. Great field of them as well, getting ready for their $5000 to win on October 9th and 10th at All Tech Raceway. Wild start as the green flag waves, we see Christian (30) leading the back to the Flagstand. They are battling hard all over the track, two and three wide. You can hear them tapping the gas, imagine if they could get a good grip how fast these guys would be?? The man on the move is Wayne Risner (22) as he was a late arrival. Most know the Bristol Strong story by now, and they had a benefit for his daughter on Saturday making it late for him to get to the track. But he isn’t letting that slow him down for sure. Battle now is for the lead between John Windham (65) and Christian (30) as Windham (65) takes it. With just a few laps remaining, he never looks back. John Windham (65) would bring them to the Checkered Flag, followed by Christian (30), Wayne Risner (22), Smith (162) and Walker Windham (72) rounding out your top five.

Race report are as they come across the line. Official finish will be after tech.

Hope to see you all in two weeks ,August 29th, as we have the 604 Crate Racin’ Late Models, Reed’s C-Class 602 Late Models, Woodman Life Street Stock and the Pure Stocks.

Thanks to all of our amazing Sponsors at All Tech Raceway. We simply could not do it without each and everyone of you!!

SCDRA Feature Winner / John Windham

Thanks from All Tech Raceway, we would like to thank all of our fans, drivers, crew members along with their families. We simply could not do this without you!

To start off our amazing weekend off we had 86 cars just for practice on Thursday night. Wendell decided to throw a race together for any Late Model’s wanting to race for a dash for cash out there. He had I think 12 cars decide to take the Challenge. The “Killer” Kyle Bronson would take the win on that one, but not easy, as he had some great battles. Like Kyle said in an interview,” where do you go and get paid to practice??”

Friday as the sunset we would have over 130 cars signed in to do battle. 34 Southern Clash Late Models, 18 C-Class Late Models, 34 Street Stocks, 16 A-Mods and 29 Pure Stocks. They all raced hard to clinch their spot in all the different divisions.

On Saturday as we had an 80% chance of rain, the fans and driver’s came out in droves. They packed the pits and the stands. Thank you everyone for sticking the weekend out with us!

We would have the B-Mains up first, but I was still selling tickets and did not get up to report those.

First feature of the night to hit the track would be the A-Mod Division. Green flag out, Johnny Collins (5) would lead them around for the completion of lap one. But Jeff Matthews (33) isn’t wasting time making his way to the front as he takes the lead from Collins (5) on lap number two. Battling two and three wide all throughout the field. But lap number seven Matthews (33) starts stretching out his lead by about 6 car lengths over second place held by Shane Burrows (70b). Battle now heads up for third place between Collins (5) and Garret Stewart (67). A quick caution at about the halfway point would bunch them all back together. Would this come into play?? But Matthews (33) would dominate back to the Flagstand after the restart by about five car lengths lead. With Matthews (33) reaching lap traffic with three to go. With only two to go, bad luck would strike for Stewart (67) as he spins coming out of turn four. They would restart and Matthews (33) would never look back! As they come to the Checkered it is Jeff Matthews (33), Shane Burrows (70b), Johnny Collins (5), Dale Kelly (22) and Clay Harris (21j) rounding out your top five!

Second Feature up would be our Pure Stock Division. With a very Stout 24 car field of the top drivers in the South East. Green flag would wave, we would have Cory Howard (4) leading them back for the completion of lap one. We are three wide for second between Kevin Durden (33), Brandon Elwood (28) and Bubba Durbin (12b). With Durden (33) not wasting any time he takes the lead on lap number three. By lap number thirteen Durden (33) has stretched out his lead by about a straightaway. He would hit lap traffic around lap number twenty. A late race caution would come out and bunch them all up on more time. Jason Gamble (21) would take that to his advantage. As they would take the green he would battle hard for a few laps with Durden (33). But Durden (33) never let him get by him. As they come to the checkered we would have Kevin Durden (33), Jason Gamble (21), Mike Tovett (1shot), Bud Chancey (181) and Joey Haslauer (57p) rounding out your top five.

A quick candy toss to the children brought to you by different drivers. Then the tossing of each Late Model Driver’s signed tennis balls to the children. In a chance if the driver’s ball they caught would finish in the top 3 each child would receive $25 each.

Third feature of the night would be our Southern Clash Late Models would hit the track. With 24 of the top driver’s in the south doing battle for the $10,000 prize money! Green Flag is out, Donnie Chappell (25) would lead them to the completion of lap one. As we come to lap number five, Mark Whitener (5) is trying Chapell (25) for that top spot. Making the move complete on lap number six. As we hit lap number ten your top five are Whitener (5), Chappell (25), Kyle Bronson (40b), Devin Dixon (313) and Rhett Carter (44). Whitener (5) hits lap traffic on lap number fifteen. Bronson (40b) now catching Whitener (5). Bronson (40b) makes his move on lap number twenty two. As we come to lap number thirty four Whitener (5) trying everything he has to make a move on Bronson (40b) as they have now lapped up to 15 place now. We stop for a fuel break at the half way point. No caution up to that point! Micheal Page (18x) would make his move on Whitener (5) on the restart as we take the green. Carter (44) is now up to third place. Page (18x) trying to run down Bronson (40b) as we come to lap number 50. As bad luck would strike for Nevin Gainey (17) as he spins coming outta turn two, right in front of the leaders. Great driving by our leaders for missing him. Your top ten as they bunch back up for the restart would be Bronson (40b), Page (18x), Whitener (5), Carter (44), Chappell (25), John Baker (14b), Bo Allen (71), Jimmy Sharpe, Jr (26jr), Tanner English (58) and Chad Tuten (51). As we go back green Page (18x) trying to take advantage of the restart he tries hard to get Bonson (40b) but loses ground. Late race caution as Baker (14) slows on the front stretch. Green flag out for the final time, Bronson (40b) would never look back. As they come to the checkered flag it would be Kyle Bronson (40b), Mark Whitener (5), Michael Page (18x), Bo Allen (71), and Chad Tuten (51) rounding out your top five.

Fourth feature of the night would be the Street Stock Division. David Showers, Sr (18) has been looking for this day to come all year, as he called out Mark Whitener (514) a few months back. They would take the green side by side. Whitener (514) would lead them back to the completion of lap one. Battles all throughout the field, some of them pretty tough. Bad luck would strike for Kyle Livingood (7) as he spins coming off of turn two. After the restart we have a very bad wreck taking out a few cars and Jonathan Croson (194) as he flips over, red flag is out. We take the green flag again, we have Whitener (514) taking the lead once again. After another caution we are at our time limit and have to make it a green, white checkered finish. As they start Whitener (514) back to the lead as he never looks back. Coming to the checkered flag it would be Mark Whitener (514), Mike Stalnaker (8), Kevin Durden (56), Kyle Livingood (7) and Shawn Washam (12w) round out your top five.

Fifth and final Feature of the night would be the Reed’s Metals C-Class Late Model Division. Green flag is out side by side down the back stretch between Chris Lovett (38) and Nick Kirkus (20k). Lovett (38) clinches the top spot coming to the completion of lap one. By lap number four Lovett (38) has a six car length lead over the pack. After a few cautions our time limit is up, we have to throw the checkered as Dave Ponton (2) ends up on the inside guardrail. We have Chris Lovett (38) taking the checkered flag followed by Will Harrington (18), Tyler Mimbs (9), Nick Kirkus (20k) and Riley Cason rounding out your top five.

(Finishes are as they come under the flag, official finish is after tech!)

Terri’s Race Recap for September 21 2019

Our Night of the Thousands was a huge success!! Thanks from All Tech Raceway, we would like to thank all of our fans, drivers, crew members along with their families. We simply could not do this without you!

To start our feature events off, we would see the Pure Stock division take to the track first. We have a Stout Field of Veterans versus Young Guns to take the Green! Driver’s went 4 wide coming off of turn two, they were battling hard for that top spot, but Curt Spencer (12) would lead the field to the completion of the first lap. After a few laps in Kevin Durden (33), Shane Taylor (82) and Curt Spencer (12) start pulling away from the field. At the halfway point the battle Heating up would be for third place between Ron Adams (118), Curt Spencer (12), Kent Corbin (98) and Mike Stalnaker (10). Hard Charging Shane Taylor (82) is working the bottom side and making it work down there, as he is working on Kevin Durden (33). But Kevin Durden (33) doesn’t let him get by,Durden keeps to the outside lane as he takes them to the Checkered Flag. Top five are Kevin Durden (33), Shane Taylor (82), Mike Stalnaker (10), Ron Adams (118) and Robbie Hager (35).

Second feature of the night would be our Street Stock division. As they take the green we have a four car pile up coming out of turn four. On the restart we would see Donnie Ashford (66) leading them to the completion of the first lap. Hard racing going on all throughout the field as we come to the halfway point. Donnie Ashford (66) still in control. Mike Stalnaker (8) brings out a caution at mid point. After we go Green once again, after a late race battle coming from David Showers, Sr (14), it is all Donnie Ashford (66). Top five are Donnie Ashford (66), David Showers, Sr (14), Tuck Trentham (54), Bubba Christian (04) and Justin Hall (m7).

Third Feature of the night would be the Florida Late Model division. As we take the Green Flag it would be Richard Ferry (17) leading them to the completion of the first lap. Tyler Clem (58) powers his way to the bottom and is picking up positions. Clem (58) has his focus on the top spot still being held by Richard Ferry (17), Clem (58) isn’t successful as Ferry (17) leads from Green Flag to the Checkered Flag. Top five are Richard Ferry (17), Tyler Clem (58), David Markham (18m), Peyton Nesmith (17n) and David Showers, Jr (18s).

Final Feature of the night would be our Reeds C-Class Late Model division. After we go Green Riley Cason (28c) would lead them back to the Flagstand for the competition of the first lap. Devin Walker (55) and Brandon Elwood (28e) are powering their way through the field after the redraw. As we hit lap number six we have four cars fighting for that top spot, Riley Cason (28c), Devin Walker (55), Kevin Bennett (17b) and Brandon Elwood (28e). Bad luck would strike for Cason (28c) as he drops out. After our halfway point it would be a long hard battle, lap after lap between Walker (55) and Elwood (28e). With one to go young gun Trey Mills (14) would bring out a late caution. Flag man would wave Green and White together making it a one lap battle. Elwood (28e) to the lead and never looked back. Top five are Brandon Elwood (28e), Devin Walker (55), Kevin Bennett (17b), Sean Babcock (02) and Shane Taylor (82).

(Finishes are as they come under the flag, official finish is after tech!)
